Several Australian enterprises and associations confirmed their participation in the sixth China International Import Expo, which will be held in November, at a promotional conference in Sydney, Australia, on April 27 local time.

About 200 representatives from state governments, business associations and enterprises in Australia attended the conference.

Zhou Limin, Chinese consul-general in Sydney, said at the conference that the CIIE serves as a crucial platform to deepen economic and trade cooperation between China and Australia.

Iron ore, healthcare products and agricultural products from Australia have been well received at previous expos, leading to many contract deals, said Liu Fuxue, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau.

Liu added that the two countries have broad prospects in cooperation. Additionally, he hopes that more Australian enterprises and associations will participate in the CIIE.

Kylie Bell, managing director of trade and investment at Investment NSW, which is under the New South Wales Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade, said that the CIIE has provided great opportunities for Australian products and services to enter the Chinese market.

She added that the NSW government will mobilize resources from around the world to help local enterprises participate in this year's expo.
