First China International Import Expo will be held this year starting from Nov 5 to 10 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The holding of CIIE is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core to promote a new round of high-level opening up. It is a major initiative for China to open its market to the world. Under the complicated situation of global trade protectionism, the Import Expo has fully demonstrated to the world that China is unswervingly expanding its openness, unswervingly maintaining the multilateral trading system, and unswervingly promoting the determination and confidence in the reform of the global governance system.

More than 2,800 companies from more than 130 countries and regions, and more than 150,000 buyers from home and abroad will gather in Shanghai for an unprecedented trade feast. Among the more than 2,800 exhibiting companies in the Import Expo , not only all members of the G20 , but also more than 50 countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” , more than 30 of the 44 least developed countries in the world will also come to CIIE and sign up for the exhibition. The number of businesses reached more than 150.  43 African countries and more than 190 companies have confirmed their participation. Egyptian dates, Ethiopian coffee, and South African elephant wine will enter more Chinese families.  

The Shanghai International Trade Promotion Council and the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce will host a delegation of more than 20 presidents, prime ministers and ministerial delegations from Panama, Dominica, Pakistan, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Germany, Vietnam, Cuba, Croatia, etc. during CIIE.  In the same period, it will organize various economic and trade activities such as economic and trade investment promotion, trade negotiation between Chinese and foreign enterprises, and small round table meetings.
