Recently, all sectors of society have paid close attention to the arrangements for the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (the Beijing Auto Show) and Auto Shanghai (the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition). In response to hot issues of public concern, we hereby make the following statement:

The Beijing Auto Show and Auto Shanghai are top-tier comprehensive international auto exhibitions in China with global renown. After years of development, a long-standing schedule has been established: the Beijing Auto Show is held in April of even-numbered years, and Auto Shanghai takes place in April of odd-numbered years. Both are positioned as large-scale comprehensive auto shows, playing a vital role in supporting the innovative development of China’s automotive industry and promoting exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and global automotive sectors.

To properly address concerns from the industry, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-council and the Automotive Industry Sub-council of CCPIT held a special coordination meeting on the Beijing and Shanghai auto shows on September 3 after multiple rounds of consultations. Upholding the principles of sincerity, pragmatism, consideration of overall interests and mutual benefit, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on standardized organization and coordinated cooperation of the two major exhibitions and reached important consensus.

Both sides agreed to maintain the existing alternating schedule of comprehensive auto shows between odd and even years. The 2027 Beijing Auto Show, to be held in Beijing in March, will be presented in the form of a professional thematic exhibition. This arrangement continues the mature exhibition mechanism formed over a long period. It helps coordinate industrial resources, avoid functional overlap between shows, and better serve the high-quality development of the automotive industry.

We believe that with joint efforts from both parties, the Beijing Auto Show and Auto Shanghai will continue to act as a weather vane for the industry, contributing the power of exhibition platforms to the transformation, upgrading and high-quality development of China’s automotive industry.
