Xinhua, Guangzhou, October 27 (Xinhua) — The second phase of the 140th Canton Fair entered its closing day on October 27. Following the first phase focused on advanced manufacturing, this phase centers on quality home goods. A large number of smart Chinese-made products are on display, bringing brand-new consumer experiences with a people-centered, life-oriented design philosophyChina Impo....
From brewing coffee and tidying rooms to cleaning swimming pools and delivering goods, a wide range of service robots took center stage at the fair, ready to assist households with daily chores.
At the 600-square-meter booth of Haier Group, Haiwa, an AI housekeeping robot, drew wide praise from overseas buyers. It can independently complete a full set of household tasks: collecting dirty laundry from sofas, sending clothes to the washing machine, transferring them to the dryer, and finally putting them away; transporting fresh food to the refrigerator and arranging items properly in designated zones.
Zhang Qingfu, Vice President of Haier Overseas Electric Appliances Co., Ltd., noted that Haiwa is not a standalone device. Linked with home appliances, it delivers an integrated smart home solution to cut down trivial daily housework for users.
Robots are also simplifying cleaning work. Many buyers gathered around a mini swimming pool to watch an intelligent wireless pool cleaner move back and forth. “It does not travel randomly; it autonomously maps out the most efficient cleaning route,” Feng Yang, Executive President of Daiso Technology Group, introduced the fully automatic cleaner to overseas purchasers.
As the barometer of China’s foreign trade, the Canton Fair has set up a special zone for service robots since the 137th session. More domestic robot brands have tapped global markets via this platform. Instead of just sightseeing and taking photos, overseas buyers hold in-depth business talks and conduct factory inspections, turning their recognition of Chinese robotic technologies and solutions into tangible orders.
“I came to the Canton Fair mainly to source AI robots. I plan to bring these Chinese products back home, and I believe they will be well received by local consumers,” said Ahmed Sobhy Mohamed, a buyer from Egypt.
Numerous daily necessities and furniture pieces at this year’s fair are equipped with AI brains and AI vision. Minor yet innovative upgrades from manufacturers have greatly improved user comfort.
At the booth of Sichuan Deep Sleep Smart Home Co., Ltd., overseas buyers queued up to test multiple smart mattresses with adjustable massage frequencies.
Yin Boru, Chairman of the company, explained that the soothing massage function, paired with built-in sensors that track heart rate and rolling frequency, helps people of all ages improve sleep quality. The products have gradually gained traction in European markets.
“We developed this thermos with a magnetic lid, allowing users to open it with just one hand for outdoor activities when both hands are occupied,” said Zhang Bin, General Manager of Shanghai Sile Stainless Steel Products Co., Ltd. The product made its global debut at the Canton Fair, showcasing the company’s commitment to people-oriented innovation.
Water-saving sanitary ware also attracted strong buyer interest thanks to practical technical improvements.
“The highlight of this outdoor massage pool is our self-developed electric thermal cover that meets user demands for heat preservation and water conservation,” said Huang Jie’en, Sales Director of Foshan Gaoming Yuehua Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd. The cover can rise and fall automatically and seal the pool tightly. With foam insulation inside, it effectively reduces water and heat loss, cutting the cost of water refilling and heating.
Huang added that over five days of the fair, the firm secured more than 70 letters of intent worth over 3 million yuan, with more than a dozen clients buying product samples on site.
Mike van der Vloet, a buyer from the Netherlands, commented that Chinese home appliances stand out globally with intelligent upgrades and strong international competitiveness. Rabih Zanan, a Canadian buyer, said: “The strength of Chinese products lies in translating technologies into mass-produced affordable goods.”
Zhu Yong, Director of China Foreign Trade Centre, said around 11,000 exhibitors took part in the export exhibition of the second phase, showcasing 2.376 million products. The Canton Fair has become a key platform for global consumers to access innovative, green and smart Chinese-made goods that elevate quality of life.
