It is learned from the press briefing for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) that the 9th CIIE will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. At present, all preparatory work is in full swing and advancing steadily, with phased progress achieved.
The Country Exhibition is making smooth headway. Fifty‑seven countries and three international organizations have confirmed their participation, covering developed, developing and least‑developed countries. Moldova, Romania and the United Nations Development Programme will take part for the first time. Meanwhile, provincial, municipal and prefectural authorities of relevant countries are supported to participate to showcase outcomes of China‑foreign sub‑national cooperation.
In terms of Guest Countries of Honor, Canada has announced its invitation to serve as Guest Country of Honor for the second time. This year’s CIIE features an innovatively‑designed Guest‑Country‑of‑Honor Themed Day and an enhanced benefit package for guest countries. A wide range of booth events will be organized to explore in‑and‑off‑venue linkage between the exhibition and the city. With the theme of “Forging New Ground for a Shared Brighter Future”, the China Pavilion will fully display new opportunities and visions for China’s economic and social development during the 15th Five‑Year Plan period.
