According to the WeChat official account "Shishuo Xinyu", on February 11, the State Administration for Market Regulation held an administrative guidance meeting for catering service chain enterprises in Beijing, urging enterprises to strictly fulfill their primary responsibilities and take effective measures to ensure food safety for consumers. The meeting pointed out that catering service chain enterprises cover a wide range of regions, have long management chains, and own a large number of stores and consumer groups. Ensuring food safety in catering services, so that consumers can consume with confidence and eat safely, is not only a legal obligation of catering chain enterprises, but also a basic prerequisite for enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities and gain social recognition. At present, the overall food safety situation of chain catering enterprises is stable, but there is still a gap compared with public expectations in terms of food safety management and the implementation of primary responsibilities. The meeting required that catering service chain enterprises must earnestly fulfill their primary responsibilities, strictly implement laws, regulations, standards and specifications, ensure sustained compliance in operation, and that catering foods meet food safety standards. In accordance with the *Provisions on the Supervision and Administration of Catering Service Chain Enterprises in Fulfilling Primary Food Safety Responsibilities*, enterprises shall set up food safety management posts based on actual conditions and establish a dynamic management mechanism based on food safety risk prevention and control. They shall formulate a *Food Safety Risk Control List*, define key monthly, weekly and daily food safety tasks for headquarters, branches and stores respectively, and promote precise risk prevention and control at the "smallest work unit". The meeting stressed that local market regulation departments should focus on key areas of food safety risk prevention and control in chain catering and innovate supervision methods. They should pay close attention to key categories, key links and key regions, strengthen supervision and law enforcement, and impose strict and heavy penalties on acts that break through the moral bottom line and cause vile impacts. Information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and "Internet Plus" should be comprehensively used to empower food safety supervision, improve regulatory efficiency, and ensure that the general public can eat securely and with peace of mind.
