As the 100‑day countdown to the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) kicks off, Michelin announced on July 28 that under the theme “For New Progress, Hand in Hand”, it will bring two Asia‑debut innovations to this year’s CIIE, alongside a showcase of innovative products, digital technologies and advanced manufacturing practices covering diverse mobility and professional scenarios.
This marks Michelin’s sixth participation in the CIIE. It will stage the Asia premiere of its tire made with 75 % sustainable‑content materials. Third‑party‑certified for passenger vehicles, the tire meets Michelin’s stringent performance criteria while putting high shares of renewable and recycled materials into real‑world use. It advances relevant technologies from validation to practical deployment and fuels the green transition of the tire industry.
Michelin’s latest digital‑twin solution for tires will also make its Asian debut at the Expo. Built upon Michelin’s massive repository of real‑world data and adopting an all‑software architecture, the solution requires no physical sensors fitted on tires. It monitors tire conditions via real‑time data analytics, supporting customers in safety early‑warning, performance optimization and maintenance decision‑making and enabling vehicles to “sense” tire changes on an ongoing basis.
Over its 37‑year presence in China, Michelin has kept scaling up local investment. At this CIIE, Michelin will also present its latest advanced‑manufacturing achievements in China, including its Shenyang plant — the world‑renowned Lighthouse Factory within China’s passenger‑car tire sector — and Phase‑II expansion of the Michelin Shanghai plant, the Group’s world‑first “Factory of the Future” project. These exhibits demonstrate Michelin’s innovations in smart manufacturing, green production and flexible manufacturing.
In addition, Michelin will engage with upstream and downstream industrial‑chain partners, clients and industry institutions in technical exchanges, scenario validation and cooperation exploration covering sustainable materials, digital tire management, fleet operation and smart mobility. It aims to translate more innovations from exhibition stands to production lines and from technical proposals into real‑world applications.
Michelin stated that it hopes the CIIE can further bridge global innovations with Chinese use‑cases, drive future mobility from technological vision to industrial application and from isolated breakthroughs toward ecosystem‑wide progress. The company will continue to deepen its footprint in China and jointly create new value for future mobility together with China’s local industrial ecosystem.
